This is what Scarlett does while we shop...

Devouring her munchkins.  All TEN of them.  Mother of the Year!

What She Wore

This outfit is from yesterday; we had a family outing to Wal*Mart.  So exciting.  But we needed groceries and there's a Dunkin' Donuts inside, so it was a win/win!  I had a mini photoshoot with Scarlett as she ransacked the aisle:

Hoodie:  Baby Gap (hand-me-down from Alyssa)
Onesie:  Carter's
Leggings: Old Navy
Boots:  Baby Gap

She's really getting the hang of this whole walking thing!

New Toys

Our mojito mint leaf grinder has a new purpose:

Mix in a mason jar and Scarlett was entertained for a full half an hour!
(she also enjoyed my empty half & half carton!)

I love her look of self-satisfaction!

Oh, look!  She found my blackberry...

Awesome.

More Babies?

With Scarlett getting older, I've been thinking about how it would feel to be pregnant again.  What would my life be like with another baby around?  Would I ever have free time?  How would another baby effect Scarlett and the attention that I give her?

I know three friends who are pregnant right now and they all have little ones around Scarlett's age.  Sometimes I think they're crazy, but then other times, I could picture myself doing the same.

Tyler and I have been talking about having another baby.  I'm still nursing Scarlett now, though, and I want to have a little time to get back in shape and feel like it's my body, not Scarlett's nap time snack machine!  Also, Scarlett and I are rocking it out!  We can go out & about with relatively little planning and she can stay awake and happy for longer and longer periods of time.  At home, we play, clean, and read lots, but I also can sneak in a few moments of "me" time to refuel!

We're not going to rock the boat just yet...only one baby in diapers at a time in this household!  And we have Alyssa with us lots & lots, so it's almost like having two babies already!  Maybe in a year we'll be ready to add to the Smith family...

PS--I like to read Meghann's blog and her son, Carter, is super-cute!  Though this post made me wonder about the future...it's a little scary to think about and makes me want to tell Scarlett and Alyssa, "Colby or Thomas."  ;)

Scarlett, 2 months old!

Thirteen Months and Two Days.

Lovin' those mixed berries for breakfast!
She's thirteen months old now, so I really need to write a post about Scarlett because this blog is a huuuge chunk of what I use as a baby book.  I know, I know, I've been neglecting this blog, so that tells you how great I am at keeping a record of my only child's first year of life.  Yikes.  Sooo, here's a Scarjo update:

Her favorite things to eat are bananas, blueberries, cheese, tomato sauce, and fruit strips.  Now this is bizarre because Scarlett wouldn't touch fruits until a few months ago; she much preferred veggies.

Scarlett CAN crawl and walk when holding onto something!  Phew!  Woohoo!

Choo Choo Soul makes her world a better place.  As much as I'm against television, I (kind of.) approve of Choo Choo Soul.  First of all, Alyssa watched it constantly and she turned out perfect!  (not sure if that counts as a very educated reason, but I had to include it because I totally use it as rationalization.)  Secondly, Scarlett only watches it on Tyler's cell phone screen either when she's having a freak out or while I'm showering.  Anything is okay, in moderation, right?!  Third on my list, it's FUN!   I love the music, the fact that it's educational, and the fact that Scarlett's learning new things.  (I know I just sounded like Mum.)  She now says, "Choo choo!" to the train that goes around the Governor's restaurant.

Scarlett would much rather play with electronics, shoes, art projects, light switches, and bottles of pills that rattle than any of her own crazy-amounts of toys.  This makes my life just a bit more challenging, but that's okay.

She screeches to get something she wants--we really need to work on new words.  She knows choo choo, Rex, hot, blow, mum, and that puppies say, "ruff ruff!"  Scarjo also knows what NO means.  When I tell her "no," though, she just starts to cry and push away anything that's near her.  (Just one example of when she turns into monsterbaby.)

Not being a monsterbaby here!

She loves to dance!

As of 2/19, she weighed 18lbs and 9oz.

Scarlett enjoys playing with other kids.  So far, she's met kids at the gym daycare, playdates with Delia, Greyson, Maeve, the Stout boys, open swim, and Alyssa Lou!

For things to do, we go outside for walks, clean the house, go grocery shopping, to the gym, and to open swim.  We read books and hold hands while she practices walking.  She can entertain herself with toys on the floor while I cook, but she usually wants to help out!

Scarlett was 21" long on 2/1/11.
Looking a little tired.

Valentine's Day with Little Miss!

Yes, she still sleeps with us.

Playing on Alyssa's new bed!

I have a confession.

Well, I'm starting a new section of my blog. It all started this afternoon when I did something shameful (more on that later...). Then it hit me; I should confess this on my blog! Not sure why airing embarrassing things to the public makes me feel less ashamed, but it does. So get excited for my first Sunday Confession:

I ate fluff out of the container.
I scooped out spoonfuls of fluff, dipped that into peanut butter, and ate the whole thing.
Multiple times.
Happy lunch to me!

My "What I'm Lovin'" List

I had to use this idea because it's fun and I get to think about things/people that make me happy!

MODG!  I heart, heart, heart modgblog.com x100!  Sitting down at my computer to get caught up on old  MODG posts with a sleeping baby and a Great One (DD Great Ones make me SUPER-happy!) is heaven!  (Mary, I totally give you full credit for discovering modg, but you really should be looking for more fun blogs and let me know...it's like music while you're away.  It's your job.)

Alyssa and Scarlett loving each other.  It makes me so happy that they are there for each other--they have no idea that they'll be each other'd best friend, but I do!  I have two sisters who are my very best friends and I'm lovin' the fact that Alyssa, Scarlett and Louisa will have that security in each other.  They're sisters really more than cousins!  (and soon I'll have pictures of Louisa with the girls--she will be here in March!)

Valentine's Day 2011
Repotting my plant.  I love that I realized (after a week of watering & sunning) that my plant was dying due to it's super-duper teeny pot.  Once I repotted that baby, BAM!  All was right in it's world and it is happy and green and that makes me happy!  Especially since it didn't take my mother coming over and harping on me for not taking care of my plant!  I feel like a grown-up!

Scarlett's mobility.  She can crawl everywhere and can walk along furniture and walls.  After being slightly concerned by the fact that she wasn't crawling at 11 12 months, I'm relieved that she was just a late bloomer!

Clean floors.  I'm lovin' clean floors because they make me breathe easier when Scarlett's all over them!

Daydreaming of REALLY fixing my house.  I have colors already picked out for the siding.  Chocolate brown or slate blue.

Seattle's Best leveled coffee.  It's awesome--I brew level 5 and it tastes like Starbuck's Caffe Americano!

Sales, sales, sales!!!  I love buying (baby clothes especially!) items at a discounted price.  It's even more fun when I go home and tell Tyler!  Our conversation goes a little like this:

Me: "Guess what I paid for this super-awesome, sweater."

Tyler: "$20."

Me: "Nope!  Only $15.  Normally, it was $99.50, then TJMaxx's price was $70.00, then $35.00, then it was on super-sale for FIFTEEN DOLLAHS, MAKE YA HOLLA!  WOOHOO!!  I am a bargain shopper, welcome."

(He's doesn't get as excited as I do about my savings, but he should.)

I also am a recent lover of aerobics.  Anything that gets me exercising without me really knowing it, is a good thing, but on top of  the fun of it, there's fun, happy music, and peer pressure to really make me work hard.  Love it!

The View.  I just love the ladies from The View and I love to disagree with them.  Also, I usually love Whoopi, but I think that she acts a bit superior to some of the ladies(Sherri, which I kind of get because she is a little annoying!)/guests and seems sometimes bored by the conversation.  Perk up, Whoopi!

A few more...
Tara, Dr. Jean, Discovery Toys, Funky Monkey snacks, NY&Co.

Terrified.

Um, yup, that pretty much sums it up!  After I spent the day with my favorite two (of three!) people in the whole entire world, I feel terrified of having more babies.  And then I feel like a horrible person.  But holy cow, two is a lot more work than one.  There just seemed like there was no down time.  With just Scarlett, when she naps, I get a breather, but today the naps were at seperate times.  Fantastic.  And I have lots more days with two babies...my sister's ex decided that he doesn't have time for Alyssa until the 18th.  Woohoo!  I'm pretty excited about our days of fun with Little Miss because on top of all the hard work, Alyssa was really a lot of fun!  She is the most funny person I know and the things that pop out of her mouth crack me up.  And then when I tell her she cracks me up, she tells everyone else they crack her up.  I was literally laughing all day.  So it was really fun, but now I am exhausted.  As much as Alyssa loves Scarlett, she also loveds to steal her toys and munch on her fingers.  (weird!)  When I caught her doing just that, I looked at her like, "what are you doing?!"  And Alyssa said, "I'm just tasting her fingers.  Them tastes like beef."  HAHAHA!  Hilarious!  And what do you even say to that?!  My day was filled with lots of kisses from little girls, more funny Alyssa quotes, lots of conversation hearts and "peanut butter fluffernutters," bumped heads (and that's putting it mildly), and seasame street (to keep Alyssa from literally closing Scarlett's eyelid and saying, "close ya eyes, shhh, go to sweep!").  Phew!  I guess it was just a glimpse of what my life will be like in a couple of years.  It's terrifying.  But definitely adventurous and worth the work.  I'm heading to bed, but I'll leave you with these pictures from the past week or so:
