Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 Celebrity Hairstyles

My # 1 choice:  Reese Witherspoon  She always has the perfect color blonde!  This hairstyle almost makes me want to cut my bangs again...almost.

My #2 choice:  Lauren Conrad  Her hair always looks effortlessly polished--love it!  And I think the braid is so fun for Spring!

Vacation Mode

I've been so busy eating treats, shopping, playing with Lulu, and having play dates with the Clunies, that I haven't been blogging, but here's a peek at what our St. Patrick's Day festiveness looked liked:

In other news, Scarlett is FOURTEEN months old today!!!  YAY!

TWO New Things

  1. Scarjo gave me kisses...and I didn't even have to beg!  This is huge.  Of course, I freaked out and squealed and jumped up and down with her; I want to encourage this new act of affection!  She has three different kinds of kisses.  Sometimes she'll just bash her head into my face (she's imitating me kissing her all over, I think.), other times she'll open her mouth up really wide and go slowly for your lips (I love even the soggy, wet ones!), and then sometimes she'll put her lips together and smoosh them into my lips!  It's just makes me so happy that she's such a lovey baby.
  2. Tonight, Scarlett learned, "head."  She was babbling away and touching her head, so I told her what it is and after she kept touching her head and I said, "head."  After a few practices, I said, "Scarlett, where's your head?" and she patted her head.  Smart baby.

I have been really loving the blogging world more and more lately, which inspired me to want to improve my own blog.  It's funny, though, because the blogs I'm most interested in reading are totally "mommy blogs." (and a few home improvement blogs or style blogs!)  I go through and read the posts and stay longer and longer if there is an "about me" section or birth story or if there are posts about their specific mothering methods...as I become invested in a blogger's story, I stay longer and read more.  Then it dawned on me...I have none of these pieces to my blog!  Why would anyone want to read about my day-to-day life if they're not invested because they know nothing about me?!  (other than the fact that I have 2 super-cute ladies in my life!)  Once I realized that my blog was lacking meat, I decided that I really needed to juice it up!  So that's what I have been working on while I've been posting fast and easy, but cute, "Wordless Wednesday" posts!  More info about me, my mothering techniques, and my birth story...I hope you're as excited about it as I am!  ;)

Also, one of my very best friends had her baby last night!  Caden Matthew was born at 1:24am and I couldn't be more excited for my friend, Cait, and her family!  I was lucky enough to go meet him today and I have to say that now I just want a million more babies!  When I came home to Scarlett, she seemed like SUCH a big girl!  So we'll see what the future holds...

Louisa Violet Francis is SIX months old today...and she will be here on Monday evening!  My mom is renting a huge van so that our whole (real!) family can ride down to Portland and greet the Clunies together!  I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Also, I'm stealing a posting idea from Meghann:

3 things that make you HAPPY:

  1. This Etsy purchase arriving in the mail.  What a sweet surprise...even though I knew it was coming eventually!  Mosiesposies has so many creative, fun art that would go perfectly in any nursery--it was hard for me to choose which style I liked best.  I want to get this one next!   Or maybe one for Alyssa to match Scarlett's!
  3. The new things at Bath & Body Works!!!  Their new scent, Carried Away, is A-MAZ-ING.  And their anti-bacterial soap line has added new scents perfect for Spring/Summer!  Yummy!
  4. Select-A-Shimmer?  Genius!
  5. Finally coming up with an idea that helps keep Scarlett's (ridiculously dry) skin moisturized without having to slather on thick, sticky cream while she shivers after her bath--I just add (lots!) of baby oil to her bath water.  When she got out, she was all slick and smelled scrumptious!  I'm just not sure why it took me almost 14 months to think of it!  Better late than never...and now I have oil to smooth on my legs this summer!  Hello, shorts and wedges...!

6 Days.

Only SIX days until my sister, her husband, and my niece, "Little Baby Hulu," come to stay with us for two weeks!!!  Guess how much reorganizing I have accomplished since last week???  None.  F-bomb.  I reeeeally will make a dent in the mess today.  For sure.  Here's what it looks like now:

And this is the only semi-postable picture!

Um, yeah.  Don't be jealous of my week of fun!  Once it's all organized and clean, it will be amazing, though!  Now if only I could get Scarjo to entertain herself...!

Wishful Thinking...

This summer, Mary, I want to drink this:

While the babies sleep, and we're painting the hardwood floors white sunbathing, this drink will be perfect!  Hello, Summer 2011!!!

Sunday Confession...

Well, I saw this on here and I couldn't agree more!

(BUT, I still watch her show if she has on an interesting guest!)

So What Wednesday

Today, I'm saying SO WHAT if...

  • My willpower decreases as the day progresses...those goldfish are just calling my name!
  • I have 12 days to reorganize my entire house in order for the Clunies to have a place to sleep...and I'm sitting here blogging!
  • Wal*Mart is a fun, family outing for us...it's amazing to get out of the house AND Wal*Mart has everything, so less car seat buckling and unbuckling!
  • I let Scarlett watch Yo Gabba Gabba music videos...she's been super cranky this week.  (And I may have discovered the cause of her crankiness...FIVE new teeth.  I'm a horrible mother!  How did I not know?!)
  • Scarlett had a meltdown (like kicking, screaming, head-banging against the floor meltdown) at Governor's Family Restaurant.  Though I kinda blame the old ladies at the table next to us.  They should have been more friendly to the just-started-teetering-around baby who ventured over for a visit, so that I wasn't the bad guy who forced her back!
  • I'd rather be at home with my baby than go out and about with (certain) friends.
  • Buying my first jogging stroller has me peeing-my-pants-excited giddy!
  • I'm just discovering how amazing LLBean really is!  Hello, best kids gear ever.
  • I'm a blog stalker.  I read tons of blogs faithfully and hardly comment.  I should leave more comments.

Thank You, Royals!

I'll be watching on April 29, 2011!  (Where was this technology when Princess Diana was married?!  Now THAT I would have loved!)  What I'm most looking forward to seeing???  The DRESS!!!  But I hope that Kate Middleton has a make up artist for the big day.  She chose to do her own make up for her engagement pictures, and they look okay, but she definitely needs falsies asap.  (Um, hello.)  Maybe some lip plumper, too!  (Sorry, Kate!)
