NINE Months...time for another baby!

Just kidding!  No Baby 3 just yet!  I need to get my baby Poppy love while I still can...then we'll start to think about a third!

Poppy Ballerina turned 9 months on August 2.  Already.  And let's be honest, she's almost 10 months now.  That's how on top of my blogging I have been...!  ;-)  Chiquita needs to sloooow down.  I'm not ready for her to grow up and leave me, too!  I really should consider homeschooling.  Done with all this "flying the coop" thing.  Over it.

Poor baby just started really crawling and has already had her first fall.  She was apparently feeling a bit over-confident when she was furniture standing because she tried to walk, lost her balance, and hit her face on the way down.  So many tears.  :-/

But on a happier note, Poppy is officially a crawler!

I was unloading groceries yesterday evening, when I heard little Poppy chirps, turned around and saw this!  She had been sitting on the living room rug surrounded by enough baby dolls to entertain her while I was busy, but instead, she discovered a new form of entertainment!  My life just became 10x crazier!

Here is Poppy at 9 months:

Always such a fun, happy baby!!!  At 9 months, Poppy started talking lots!  "Ba ba, da da, pa pa" are her first sounds, but she recently started saying, "ma ma ma."  Yesss!

Poppy claps, waves, gives kisses (to anyone, but especially to her babies and reflection!), dances and sings, feed herself, and loves to play with her Little People!

Bananas are a new favorite food and black olives are always a sure thing!  I can't wait until it's officially okay to give her peanut butter and honey...two more months!

I'm not gonna lie...I am starting to look for 1st birthday outfits and party inspirations!!!  Might as embrace and have fun with the fact that my baby is getting older, even if I do hate it!

Months 7 & 8

Remembering our family without Poppy seems like a lifetime ago...she has blended right in and has definitely spiced things up a bit! After months of being our angelbaby, Chiquita is finally finding her voice squawk!  If she wants something, she is going to make it known!

  • At eight months old, Poppy still has no teeth, though she is teething like crazy!  (Blech!)
  • She sits by herself, gets on all fours, but always one leg gets stuck and so she isn't crawling juuust yet.
  • Her favorite toys are teethers (obv.) and rattles that make noise.
  • Half of her days are spent sitting naked in the sink with teethers and cups playing in the water while I get stuff done around the kitchen/feed Scarjo!
  • Poppy is not a huge fan of the pool, she'd rather splash in shallow water...or nurse.
  • She is still nursing 3-4 times each day and lots at night!
  • Other than nursing, she can eat pretty much anything that is allowed...peas, eggs, graham crackers, fruit, black olives are a new fave, and really everything but peanut butter, honey, and cow milk.  She is a champion eater!

I think that my competition for being Poppy's favorite person is Scarlett and Scarlett only.  No matter what Poppy is doing or how hungry/tired/hot/grumpy she is feeling, Scarlett can put a smile on her face.  Sweet sisters!

So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday

  • I think I re-love the Kardashians.  (Scott is still my favorite!)
  • Following Sean Lowe on instagram seems like a good idea.
  • Now that Tyler works away for 3 weeks, when he walks through that door, I expect some time off ASAP!
  • I bought mom shorts.
  • When the toddler toys have too many parts that could make a mess, I keep them on the top shelf.  Out. of. reach.
  • Peach looks so fantastic on Kate Middleton -- I want to try it!  With the pasty skin and blonde hair?  I'm pretty sure that won't work.
  • I am having MAJOR van envy of soccer moms everywhere!  Whaaat?!
  • Ah!  Ernesto!  I have been telling anyone who will listen about Ernesto & Shandie!
  • Baby 3 is totally named.  And it might include Macklemore, IF Tyler gets his way.  (He won't.)
  • Scarlett tries to put babies in my belly.
  • I have wrinkles.  I am OLD.  When did that happen?!
  • We take selfies in the mirror.  A lot.  Especially after we straighten our hair!
Besties!

SJ

This is Scarlett today.  She wore this shirt that she picked out during our family trip to Freeport!  Scarlett was in love with this shirt because the girl on the front looks like her, it is a size 3 (her size because she IS three), and, hello, sparkle hearts!

(What convinced us?  The $3.19 price tag!  Gotta love a good deal!)

6 Months

Poppy Ballerina turned 6 months on the 2nd!  Now I feel like we're heading straight towards ONE YEAR. I'm not ready for that quite yet...!

In happier news, I figured out a huge reason that baby 2 is way easier than baby 1 (other than their completely different dispositions!) -- baby 1 is there to entertain baby 2!!!  That makes all the difference in the world!  With baby 1, I was so concerned about making sure that I was keeping her entertained that I was stressed and guilt-ridden if I stopped chatting and engaging her.  If I day dreamed, and then realized that I'd been in outer space, I felt bad for leaving it so silent in the house.  Maybe that's why Scarjo is such a chatterbox!

This time around, baby 2 would rather watch Scarlett doing anything than play with me.  It's great because I love to just watch them together.

I was downstairs doing laundry when I heard Poppy laughing.  I tiptoed up the stairs and peeked around the corner to find Scarlett sitting on the back of couch making silly faces and sounds that were making Poppy really laugh!  Awesome.

Now just think of how easy baby 3 will be with two entertainers/babysitters...!  ;-)
Chiquita is really filling out now and looking like such a big girl!

Scarlett and her crazy poses are pretty hilarious!

Tyler is working on the road now.

I get to do the kid thing by myself 24/7.
It only looks like this sometimes!

Then an amazing thing happens...

They fall asleep and I GET THE HOUSE TO MYSELF.  No babies.  No remote-stealing husbands.  Hello, RHOOC!!!  ;-)
