Sisters.

Here in the first picture, Poppy is posing so proudly with her babies in the stroller.  Happy, happy!  Then rotten Big Sister realizes what is going on, swoops in, steals baby Tiana, and leaves Poppy with that face!

Poor Popsters -- this is what life is like 50% of the time.  The other 50% is spent being man-handled walked around the house by Scarlie Jojo!  Obviously being baby 2 is hard

Don't worry, though, I took control of the situation...until Big Sister strikes again!

Baby 3??!

When Scarlett was just a month old, the thought of another baby was terrifying to me!  I couldn't imagine even being pregnant while taking care of Scarlett, let alone actually having TWO children to keep happy and healthy.

Already a grumpster!

But this time around, I feel so differently!  Poppy is an absolute perfect baby!  I had no idea Scarlett was a more difficult baby...I thought that I had it easy because there wasn't any crying or colic.  Maybe difficult isn't the right word, but she was very needy.  And she never slept!  Ever!  She just started actually sleeping through the night a few months ago.   Not Poppy!  My little angelbaby sleeps in 3-4 hour chunks at a time already!  She's even slept from 10pm-4am a few times!  Makes life a bit easier when you have some sleep!

Other than rocking it out in the sleep department, she's just an all-around calm, content baby.  Which brings me to baby 3...that is the big question in my mind these days.

Already putting up with Scarjo "love."

Tyler, before Poppy, was adamant that he wanted ONE baby.  Only one!  He always says, "Scarlett's perfect!  Why mess with perfection?  Let's quit while we're ahead!"  Well, look how that went...!  Now we have two and three just feels like the PERFECT amount of children.  To me.  Tyler is adamant that he wants no more babies!  But I'm twenty-nine.  How can I close up shop before my thirties?! That thought just makes me so sad.

Tyler does make good points.  If we stop now, we'll have time together while we're still young.  It'll cost less money and we can afford to give more to the kids we do have.  That's all true and everything, but my main reason for considering stopping now is just because I don't want my attention stretched too thin.  It was seriously the saddest thing for me when I knew that Scarlett would have to share me.  Knowing that I was giving her a sister did little to quiet my fears and guilt.

So baby 3 is still up in the air...but we have a few years to figure it out!  :)

Just checking in!

Things here are going very well!  The whole recovery thing is WAY easier this time around -- thank goodness because Tyler worked yesterday and he's there again today!  I dreaded the day that he would leave me, but honestly, as much as it's more work by myself, it's easier in lots of ways, too.  Scarlett and I have our thing down, so when she is being entertained watched mostly by Tyler, it throws her for a loop and her behavior disintegrates and her manners disappear.  Not fun.

I'm not gonna lie -- it was terrifying to watch Tyler drive out of the driveway -- but it made for an even better day!  I had been missing my Scarjo so much.  All last week, Tyler had maintained our regular schedule to keep Scarlett in her activities, but being away from her so much was really difficult for me.  I just kept trying to remember to appreciate my time with Poppy.

So staying home with two little ones is not much different than being home with one, but I think that's because Poppy is still so little.  She requires very little work other than time to just sit and nurse.  She's awake maybe an hour or two, but each day, she becomes more alert!  She looks at me and follows my voice.  Scarlett loves to get close and talk to her -- she freaks when Poppy "holds her hand," AKA baby wiggles when her hand happens to land on Scarlett's hand.  I love that Scarlett loves Poppy.  So far, there seems to be no jealousy issues!!!  Phew!

Tyler's home again all next week and we're going to try to all continue our regular routine together, so that I'll be used to going out and about with two babies!  Honestly, the most difficult part of this whole "more than one baby" thing is just trying to get ready.  I can clean (kind of!) and get both girls fed, cleaned, and dressed, but when it comes to putting on make up and straightening my hair, forget it!  I think it's because both girls can be involved/there when I get the other one ready, but to get myself ready, they're on their own!  Laundry is pretty tricky, too!  I guess I should just be using the moby wrap...!

iPod photo dump:

PS--Am I the only one on modg baby watch?!  I'm dying to hear what she names her little girl!

PPS--I need Lulu and Poppy pictures, apparently!  She's always around, but Poppy seems to be sleeping/nursing when she's here!
